Gluten Free Apple Slice
2 cups of Gluten free flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
2 Tbs Custard Power
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
90g Butter
1/2 cup Sugar ( white )
1 Egg yolk
1/3 cup Milk ( approx. )
Filling
410 g can pie apple
1/4 cup Sultana
1 Tbs Honey
Icing Sugar ( to dust last )
Pastry
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl, rub in butter until to resembles bread crumbs
add in egg and milk and mix to firm dough. Knead lightly and roll out two thirds onto a floured surface. Place in a lined slice tin.
Place apple and sultanas in bowl and mix spread over the base and drizzle with honey.
Roll out the remaining dough and cut to arrange a lattice pattern on top.
Bake in a hot oven for 25 minutes, then dust with icing sugar.
